Ludwig Corporation is a respected regional boutique appraisal firm. The firm was started by Henry Ludwig over 100 years ago in South Philadelphia. Henry served in WWI and after his service to our country became a well respected real estate professional. Real Estate appraising became a profession during the Great Depression when local real estate professionals were called upon to assist banks with their lending. Henry was the go to person in his local community and served as President of the South Philadelphia Counsel in 1928 as well as serving as the President of the Philadelphia Board of Realtors during WWII. In 1932, Henry brought his younger brother Edward into the firm after he graduated from college. For 20 years they operated out of an office located at 8th and Wolf Streets, in South Philadelphia. In the early 1950’s, Ed opened a new office in Northeast Philadelphia, which was a rapidly developing area for families after WWII. Ed became the first president of the newly formed Oxford Circle Counsel of Realtors. Ed had two sons, Robert and Barry. Barry continued on the foundation of the many years of local experience and today is a well respected, commercial real estate appraiser and real estate counselor. Robert is a well-known, and respected residential real estate appraiser.
